Love, perhaps the most complex of human emotions, has always been an inspiration to artists of every sort. In Roman mythology, Cupid is the god of desire, attraction, and erotic love, the son of Venus, goddess of love and beauty, and Mars, god of war. It is Cupid’s arrow (or dart)that symbolically pierces the heart, kindling the flame of emotion that we call love. Among the arts, music and poetry are particularly good at expressing what surpasses mere words. In this concert, Echoing Air presents music and poetry from 17th and 18th Century Italy and England. Chocolates are provided.
