The season of Lent is the period of forty days in the church year leading up to the celebration of Easter. In many traditions of the Christian faith, it is a time of contemplation and preparation. This concert features music appropriate to the season by Baroque masters of France, England, Germany, and Italy: Charpentier, Purcell, Schütz, Monteverdi, Carissimi, and others.
